Hello! Thanks so much for taking some of your time to get to know more about me, I really do appreciate it.
You’ve seen me around at work and other places; I’m usually the one who has a reputation for being the caring, sensitive soul of the team. I organize morning teas, fundraisers, and always remember to buy candles for your birthday cakes (not to mention actually remembering your birthday in the first place).
We FRIENDs don’t just care about people; we actually feel that it is our duty to care. Of course, the challenge for us, is that we can get so caught up in feelings, that we have been known to get to a point where we can’t actually tell if we’re feeling our own feelings or the feelings of another.
When it comes to communicating, I connect and listen. Think about that certain someone whom you always turn to when you need to talk – you know, the person you can count on to give you their time and their undivided attention? Chances are that ‘someone’ is a FRIEND. Maybe it’s ME!
It is as clear as ‘clear’ can be when I like you; you’ll know it immediately. In general, I’m quick to form positive relationships and slow to make enemies.
I prefer a relaxed and unhurried pace in my life and in business; but this doesn’t mean I’m slow. FRIENDs are often very active people who are always doing something. In fact, I rarely find myself in a situation where I have nothing to do.
Many have said, and I’m inclined to agree, that FRIENDs are perhaps the most unselfish of all the FACE personality types. We generally give freely of our time, our finances, and in many other ways. To behave selfishly is a trait that is highly undesirable to us.
Most of us have a strong sense of duty towards doing what is good and what is right. Scenes of poverty (on TV, billboards and the like) tug on my heart-strings; and I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve shed more than a few tears at some of the things that go on. If you want to motivate me to get ‘on my soap box’, simply challenge my sense of justice.
I feel a little bit embarrassed about this next bit, but let me share something with you that a very nice man recently wrote about me and all my FRIEND friends…
“FRIENDs are beautiful and necessary contributors to a world that is oftentimes callous and insensitive. They are the gentle ribbon of peace and kindness that ties us to our collective conscience. FRIENDs keep everyone else in touch with the truth that we are all bonded together in one humanity. They help us to keep our feet on the ground and in touch with what really matters in life… people. To this we humbly say to all FRIENDs, ‘Thank you!’ – Mike Francis
Oh, that’s so touching. Quick, I need a tissue.
